Lisa McMann is the New York Times bestselling author of over 30 books for kids and young adults. She and her author husband Matt are digital nomads, which means they travel around the world writing books and don’t have an actual home anywhere. Sometimes they stay in one place for a while, other times they travel on cruise ships. They visit with their parents, spend time with their adult children, and they even stay with writer friends. A lot of people ask them to house sit and take care of their pets, which they love to do.

Workshop: Writing Characters that Readers Care About

Lisa presents on the complexities of characters, using examples from her books. She demonstrates how to write characters that are unique and interesting and have flaws that readers relate to. You’ll get a chance to chime in about your own characters and ask for advice from the group if you want to!
